The CAHN-Pro Board of Directors consists of 25 hard-working professionals from across the country with representatives in every region, ensuring our members have access to the best information where they live and work. It also includes members from outside the holistic nutrition profession lending their help and support. Our board contains leading holistic nutritionists who understand the best approach for working in our field, as well as experts in accounting, legal issues, medical, business and marketing. Our board members share a passionate belief in holistic nutrition and are determined to see that holistic nutritionists gain the recognition and jobs they seek.

Wendy Lucyshyn
Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Lifestyle Educator. Wendy began working in the complimentary health field 20 years ago beginning as a Chiropractic Assistant and then as a Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.). After having children, she enjoyed 13 years of service with Greater Saskatoon Catholic Schools as an Office Coordinator where she worked on the Nutrition Positive Committee and took a lead role in running the program successfully. In 2006 she graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) . Since then, Wendy has taken courses, classes and seminars to enhance her knowledge of this field including intensive training as a Lifestyle Educator with the FirstLine Therapy Program. Wendy has been in private practice since 2007 and currently works as a Lifestyle Educator focusing on healthy weight loss and weight management as well as educating clients on achieving a balanced lifestyle providing both nutrition and cooking expertise. Wendy is a graduate of the Sacred Ground Yoga 200 Hour Teacher Training Program (2009), and since graduating has been instructing yoga through her community association (ECPCA), the Refinery and most recently at Yoga Downtown. Wendy shares her passion for nutrition with her family and friends and is a true believer in living what you teach.
Meredith MacKay, RHN
Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Meredith also holds a Masters degree in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Toronto, as well as a B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Prince Edward Island. She is the founder of Eat Move Thrive - Nutritional Counseling and Personal Training and has recently relocated from Toronto back to her hometown of Charlottetown, PEI. She is lead researcher for ongoing the Holistic Nutrition Pilot Study on Non- Insulin Diabetes and Physiotherapy and Nutrition Study currently getting in development. She is also the co- creator of the documentation standards for CAHN-Pro.
Lorene Sauro, B.A., R.H.N.
Registered Holistic Nutritionist and a teacher at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition for 10 years. Along with her duties as a director of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro), she is also co-ordinator for the Holistic Nutrition Pilot Study on Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes.
Lorene conducted the Cooking Without Wheat cooking class series with a fellow nutritionist that specialized in teaching gluten-free for 7 years. Lorene’s 25 year professional career as a pastry chef included 11 years as owner of a federally- inspected wholesale bakery. Past activities include a 3 year term as president of the CSNN Alumni Association and founder of the Canadian Holistic Nutrition Conference. She also has a 10 year history organizing Feast of Fields, in Ontario, as well as serving as the president of Advocates for Organic Agriculture (now known as Organic Advocates) for seven years which has, and continues, to promote organic agriculture.
Lorene’s latest projects are her book A Pastry Queen Goes Green and her website, which combines her holistic nutrition knowledge and professional baking experience.

Debbie Scallion, RHN
Registered Holisitc Nutritionist. She received her diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver BC. Her focus is healing with whole foods and bringing the body into balance through a holistic approach. She is passionate about natural health and believes that the prevention of degenerative diseases begins with our relationship with food.
Her interest in natural health began in childhood. She witnessed the effects of proper nutrition and supplements as they drastically improved the health of her family. Prior to becoming an RHN, Debbie spent several years counselling women who were in crisis. Through that work, she naturally developed a very empathetic and supportive approach with her clients. She conducts workshops in her community on health and healing and strives to continually increase the awareness of the power of food.
Debbie enjoys an active lifestyle, which includes yoga, cycling and hiking in local mountains. She also loves singing and playing music.
Jennifer Sexton, RHN
A bilingual Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN) and Honours graduate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. She is also a member of the extended Board of the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro).
She established Sunnyside Nutrition with the intention of empowering clients to understand more about what healthy eating means for them and how to tune in to their own body in order to increase vitality and wellbeing.
Jennifer’s professional background includes 20 years in the communications, public relations and government relations fields. She brings her passion for communicating to her Nutrition practice, providing clients with holistic nutrition counsel and support for body, mind and spirit.
In addition to her RHN designation, Jennifer holds a B.A. (Honours) from Queen’s University, and a Diplôme de Langue, Littérature et Civilsation from the Université d’Aix-Marseille III in Aix-en-Provence, France.

Jessica Sherman, B.A., B.Ed., M.A., R.H.N.
Graduated with a merit of distinction from the Ottawa branch of CSNN in 2006 after a career as an outdoor educator, high school teacher and school administrator. She holds a Masters degree in Education, as well as teaching certification in astanga yoga and wilderness medicine. She is also a Chartered Herbalist and Registered Nutritional Products Advisor. She lives in rural Quebec with her husband and two young children. When not discussing food, she pursues her other interests that include white water canoeing and canoe tripping, sustainable living, gardening and writing.
Irene Swedak, B.Sc., R.H.N., R.N.C.P.
Graduated with honors from the University of Guelph in 1996, specializing in biochemistry and nutrition followed by an honors diploma in holistic nutrition from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Irene then founded Wellness Wizards Nutritional Consulting. Irene maintains that the root cause of many illnesses and poor health is largely due to improper digestion, unsuitable food and lifestyle choices. Irene currently services corporate and individual clients throughout the GTA and she practices at Meridian Naturopathic Clinic and Assessment Centre in Mississauga.
Her first book, “Feed Me…I’m Hungry!”, a comprehensive recipe/meal-planning book for busy, health-conscious families, deals with wholesome food choices, while addressing food sensitivities and picky eating. Irene’s next book, “Feed Me… For Life”, is a work in progress. Also, she has written columns on-line for Naturally Savvy and Alive Magazine. Irene’s passion for nutritious food for children brought her to Healthy Sprouts Foods Inc. and in 2009 became president. Irene currently teaches for the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition.

Lisa Bixel, RHN
Registered Holistic Nutritionist. Her love of whole foods stretches back 35 years and is something that she builds upon with every venture. She is an entrepreneur who has both created and managed several successful businesses. Lisa teaches vegetarian cooking classes and demonstrations. Look for Lisa at Longos this fall. Lisa has done seminars and Lunch and Learns for companies such as Johnson and Johnson, American Express and Delta Hotels. She has worked at The Vegetarian Food Fair, The Big Carrot and many health food stores in the GTA. Lisa works determinedly to help other nutritionists come together. As a director of CAHN-Pro she ensures upgrading for all practitioners to enable them to become the best nutritionists in the world. Jo-Lynn Knapp, RHN
Graduated from CSNN Calgary in 2007. After graduating, she spent a year planning out exactly what she wanted to do with this new found information. In the fall of 2008, Jo-Lynn and her husband began building (with their own four hands) her health food store. They opened their beautiful little shop in Beiseker, Alberta (a village in rural Alberta of about 830 people) in the spring of 2009 and offered nutritional consulting, vibration technology, health foods, body care and supplements. Jo-Lynn has a certificate in kinesiology (muscle testing) and is working on a certificate in Gemmotherapy (a form of phytotherapy that uses the shoots of young plants). Also, Jo-Lynn has a keen interest in homeopathy and will begin taking courses when finished with the gemmotherapy.
Rachelle Wood, RHN
Registered Holistic Nutritionist from Prince Edward Island. Her nutritional consulting company, Rachelle Wood Nutrition Inc., specializes in weight loss and has helped PEI lose over 65,000 pounds in 5.5 years. Rachelle is an honors graduate of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Halifax 2002, and teaches Business Mastery at the Moncton branch. Rachelle is the author of See Results, an online weight loss program and client management tool used by Registered Holistic Nutritionists across the country. Rachelle is an award winning Business Woman, author, lecturer and health enthusiast who enjoys educating others about healthy living. Rachelle is the CSNN Alumni Director for the Maritimes and sits on the CAHN-Pro board of Directors. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, travel, exercise and blogging.
